During the ceremony Castel Malawi which are the sponsors of the cup announced the increment of the cup from k320 million to k400 million starting from coming football season which is 2024. This news has made football family in Malawi to be happy.
The allocation of k400 million will be, the
champions will be taking k55 million, Runners up MK25 million, Semi-finalists
MK12 million, Quarter-finalists MK6 million, Round of 16 MK2.5 million,
Regional Winners MK25.5 million and District Winners MK31 million.
The individual awards will be the player of the
tournament, Golden Boot and Golden Glove will be getting mk1 million each, whereas
Discovery of the Tournament will take home k500, 000. The 2024 Season for
Castel Challenge Cup will start from May to December.
The 2023s castel ibongetse challenge cup
awards. Nyasa big bullets was the champions, silver strikers were the runners
up and the player of the tournament was Patrick Mwaungulu. The discovery of the
tournament was Bangwe all-stars, the best goalkeeper was Richard Chimbamba from
Nyasa big bullets.
There were top five goal scorers which is Peter Kasonga from
MAFCO Fc, Chiukepo Msowoya from Mighty Mukuru Wanderes, Mphatso Philimon from
MAFCO Fc, Patrick Macheso from Silver Strikers and Emmanuel Savieli from Bangwe
All Stars. They all scored five goals.
