Award night at Amaryllis Hote in Blantyre

Yesterday on the night of 21st February, there was an award giving ceremony in Blantyre at Amaryllis Hotel to individuals that have done great work in castel ibongetse 2023 challenge cup. The award giving ceremony was witnessed by many sports journalists and fans. https://fb.watch/qmJZuuQsen/

increase in Castel cup prizes 

During the ceremony Castel Malawi which are the sponsors of the cup announced the increment of the cup from k320 million to k400 million starting from coming football season which is 2024. This news has made football family in Malawi to be happy.

The allocation of k400 million will be, the champions will be taking k55 million, Runners up MK25 million, Semi-finalists MK12 million, Quarter-finalists MK6 million, Round of 16 MK2.5 million, Regional Winners MK25.5 million and District Winners MK31 million.

The individual awards will be the player of the tournament, Golden Boot and Golden Glove will be getting mk1 million each, whereas Discovery of the Tournament will take home k500, 000. The 2024 Season for Castel Challenge Cup will start from May to December.

The 2023s castel ibongetse challenge cup awards. Nyasa big bullets was the champions, silver strikers were the runners up and the player of the tournament was Patrick Mwaungulu. The discovery of the tournament was Bangwe all-stars, the best goalkeeper was Richard Chimbamba from Nyasa big bullets.

There were top five goal scorers which is Peter Kasonga from MAFCO Fc, Chiukepo Msowoya from Mighty Mukuru Wanderes, Mphatso Philimon from MAFCO Fc, Patrick Macheso from Silver Strikers and Emmanuel Savieli from Bangwe All Stars. They all scored five goals.

Best radio journalist was Richard Tiyesi from Timveni Radio, best Photojournalist.

Bobby Kabango from Nation Publications Limited, best Print Journalist Isaac Salima from Times Media Group, best Online Journalist Joseph Dumbula from Mij Online and best Television Journalist, Hankey Chimtengo from Mibawa Television.

Best Community Radio Journalist from Northern Region is Victor Musongole from Tigawane Radio, in Central Region is Jeameson Kalimba from Mtunthama radio and George Sulumba from southern region who works at Ndirande FM.

AIRTEL TOP 8 AWARDS

Airtel Malawi and football association of Malawi on Tuesday yesterday to celebrate the outstanding players from the airtel top 8 season 6 in Blantyre from 6 o’clock at Sunbird mount soche hotel.  Lanjesi Nkhoma" player of the 2023's tournament  FAM competitions and communications director Gomezgani Zakazaka confirmed in an interview saying “ this event is for outstanding players and media personel who  contributed to the success of the competition`s fourth edition. Zakazaka said the awards would be offered to player of the tournament and top goal scorer in player’s category and to media in five different categories.
