Into semis at COSAFA

Malawi beach soccer national team is set to face off against Morocco in the semi-finals of the 2024 COSAFA beach soccer championship in Durban South Africa on Friday afternoon.

Malawi secured their spot in the semi-finals by defeating Seychelles 7-2, to finishing second in group A with six points. Saudi Arabia topped Group A with six points on goal difference after defeating South Africa 3-1.

Malawi has so far won two out of three games at the competition, beginning with a 4-2 victory over South Africa in their opening match. They suffered a 5-1 defeat to Saudi Arabia in their second game but bounced back in their last group match, thrashing Seychelles 7-2.

The other semi-final match will see Saudi Arabia taking on Mozambique. Mozambique finished second in Group B with six points behind Morocco, who topped the group with six points but had the advantage in goal difference. The match between Saudi Arabia and Mozambique is also scheduled to take place on Friday afternoon.
